details

Boris Scholtka is a founding partner of KERMEL & SCHOLTKA Rechtsanwaelte, which changed its name to SCHOLTKA & PARTNER Rechtsanwaelte on 1 January 2010.

He advises on matters related to "traditional" energy law and energy cartel law, as well as all issues relating to regulated markets. Another focus of his activities is environment-related energy law and co-generation law. His clients include power and gas network operators as well as energy suppliers and industrial companies.

After completing his studies in law and economic sciences in Bavaria and Lower Saxony, Boris Scholtka worked from 1995 as an assistant at the Institute of German and International Mining and Energy Law at the Technical University of Clausthal, directed by Professor Dr Kühne. He received his doctorate from Georg-August University in Goettingen in 1998, after having written his dissertation on the law of concession fees in the electricity and gas industry.

He began his legal career with an international law firm in Düsseldorf and then in Berlin, specialising e.g. in energy and mining law. Since the beginning of 2003, he has been working as a lawyer in our firm which he is a founding partner of.

Boris Scholtka is known due to his regular speaking engagements, as well as a large number of publications on current topics relating to energy law. He is a member of numerous organisations and institutions in the energy industry, such as the International Bar Association (energy section), the Antitrust Law Study Group (Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht) and the German Bar Association (Deutscher Anwaltverein DAV), among others.
